ROCKY MOUNTAIN CONFERENCE POLICIES
At the request of several lay people the Executive Committee studied and voted the following policy in which the conference level of governance attempts to provide reasonable and adequate information on significant issues. Many of the documents found on this web site are an honest attempt to comply with the policy as written. If something is not here, please ask, current administration is very interested in providing all the information possible, with the exception of private personnel issues.

Accountability Policy
Our children are our greatest asset and the future of our church. Their protection is well worth any minor inconvenience. Protecting their innocent lives from predators and pedophiles is a non-negotiable issue. NAD Risk Management is continuing to study this issue and when they finally release their recommendations your Executive Committee will come into compliance with NAD expectations, until then it is true we are attempting to be pioneers and leaders in the fight to protect our kids.

Video Policy
While the medium of television or movies is not evil in itself, far too much is seen by young children who do not yet have the capability to determine right from wrong because their values are still being formed. Churches and schools are expected to be very careful and err on the side of "boring" lest they inadvertently damage a child's value system, causing a values conflict between church and home.

Sabbatical Policy
Every pastor must continuously study and stretch themselves inorder to stay "current" with the dynamics of the church. At the same time, simply taking a break can do just as much if not more for a pastor to re-engage in the life and ministry of his/her congregation.
