Geography Comes to Life at SonShine Academy »
Students at SonShine Academy in Worland recently experienced a taste of Romania when Pastor Steve and Samantha Nelson provided them with a delicious hot lunch, Romanian style. Much to the surprise of the adults, the kids really enjoyed the traditional Romanian sarmales or cabbage rolls.
In addition to being able to taste Romanian food, each student received a small Romanian flag and a handcrafted toy from Romania.
Wearing outfits handmade by Samantha's cousin nearly 50 years ago from the region of Rustior, Bistrita-Nasaud in Romania, the Nelsons shared photos taken during their trip.
In preparation for the Nelson's return from mission work with The Hope of Survivors in Romania, the students had learned, among other things, about the history, geography, capitol and president of Romania.
Students also enjoyed a video sent by Romanian students. All in all, it was a great geography lesson!
